ANDERSON PLUS was asked to remodel The Lee House in late November 2003. Work had to be fast tracked in phases coinciding with winter/spring holidays traffic. The use of native materials to the western North Carolina mountains was key to the design of an elegant, comfortable, rustic mountain retreat. New fireplaces using false rock, due to weight considerations, and real timber details were added to the public areas and the suites. Other materials used were cork flooring, “wood plank” porcelain tile, pebbles for the shower floors and hickory timbers to create arbors for en suite whirlpools.
